Curatorial note:

I was born in a family of jewellers and was lucky to grow up in an atmosphere of design, artisans and craftsmanship.

As I grew up. I distinctly noticed that our design culture, our history, was vanishing at a rapid pace due to the pressures of modern day living, like people would sell a priceless heirloom or a piece of jewellery to provide for some current need, or simply because they were bored of it.

That’s when I started collecting.

I started looking for pieces of art and craftsmanship, with the purpose to preserve

them.

Over the years, the collection has had jewellery, textiles, everyday objects. traditional, modern & contemporary Art and so on.

Zapurza is an opportunity for me to share it with society, to encourage everyone to appreciate all art forms, celebrate great craftsmanship and respect our rich cultural legacy

I sincerely hope “Zapurza” plays at least a small part in bringing up our next generation, a little more sensitive to aesthetics and appreciative of all arts.
