Conservation & Restoration
Zapurza has a full-fledged conservation lab which performs conservation and restoration of museum objects. The conservation lab at Zapurza has a critical role in ensuring the long-term preservation of a museum’s collections. Its responsibilities go beyond simply treating objects in need of repair; it must also develop and implement policies and strategies to prevent damage and conduct research to better understand the materials and techniques used in the creation of objects, as well as their history and context. Creating detailed documentation of objects in the collection, including their condition, treatment history, and other relevant information. Zapurza also handles external projects with similar aims and objectives.
